The shifter doesn't control the preciseness of the shift. That is controlled by the transmission. Jun 18, 2008 · The MGW has 2 holes on the shaft for stock knobs, so the '08 knob or the older knobs will fit. They have a different shaft if you want to put different "ball" type knobs that screw on. They also have a really nice looking race knob that is "cylindrical" in shape.
