On a few occassions with a fully charged battery the low battery charge indicator has appeared on my D700 and I have lost power. Fitting a Z9 with a lens is challenging as the minimum of the L, W or D is probably going to be bigger than the main compartment of a messenger bag or its insert.It has everything the D200 has in a smaller, lighter, body. Around the time I got the D300, I had replaced nearly all my AF lenses with AF-S. I only saved the 50mm AF and 28mm AF. I just don't think there are a lot of people out there who have moved to mirrorless who are attached to AF lenses enough that they are begging for an FTZ with built in motor. You're not everyone.Focus is swift and sure and it makes for a nicer travel/walkaround lens vs the 24-70. But it's a 5:1 zoom vs a 3:1 zoom so there will be some optical compromises. I still like my 24-70E F mount and trying to decide if I should keep it, replace it with the S Version, or just accept the slight optical limitations and 1 stop slower 24-120.The D810 in DX mode produces a 15.4 mpx image while the D500 image will be 20.9. So the D500 gives you more pixels in a DX sized image. If the DX magnification effect is what you are after I suspect the D500 is the better choice.
