Mx_Mutt. Posted August 19, 2009. Hi Guy's, I'm new to the Xr fourms. I just sold my 2002 DR 650 and picked up a stock 2001 Xr 650 L. So far I'm very pleased with the bike, suspension is a lot better than the DR and I prefer the taller seat height.....I checked the FAQ section for valve clearences, the manual section is not working.Posted November 22, 2007. The bike was originaly designed to have the HRC 11:1 piston, cam, cam chain and the exhaust made by Moriwaki but, with the smog laws and the addition of the smog stuff the HRC Kit turned into an add on kit. I used a Noss carb adapter and the rest was stock parts. The stock throttle cables worked great and the hot start cable took place of the choke.
